Pakistan National Awards '97 was the first award ceremony recorded for television in Pakistan. Conceived & Produced by Rashid Khawaja and hosted jointly by Naeem Bokhari & Iffat Omer, choreographed by Pappu Samrat, set was designed by Tanvir Rehman and directed by Khawaja Najam ul Hasan. Following were some of the things that happened for the first time in the history of television; 1. All top film actors of the time performed on stage for the first time. 2. All performances were professionally choreographed. 3. Back up dancers were used in a tv show for the first time in Pak. 4. Cash amount of 100K for major & 50K for all other categories were given with each award. 5.
